French Equestrian Federation
General Knowledge presents the different equestrian activities and accommodations for ponies and horses with a close-up on horse riding priorities and riding tricks.
Knowledge of the horse delves into the anatomy and physiology of the horse, its 5 senses, its head, its limbs, the characteristics of its coats. It addresses the social organization of horses among themselves and takes a closer look at their eating behavior. Added to this is the presentation of the main types of ponies and horses.
Taking care of the horse gives a lot of space to the different manipulations of the horse to pick it up and bring it back to its place of life. It explains how to groom, put on the net, maintain the saddle and distribute feed.
Equestrian practice on foot explains how to lead the horse in hand, make it move its head, shoulders or hips and make it move backwards. Equestrian practice on horseback explains how to become independent to master the mount, the adjustment of the equipment and the holding of the reins. It details the correct posture when trotting and galloping as well as the transitions which allow you to master all gaits and tackle the jump.
The Guide concludes with the tools that allow you to pass Galop®2 and move towards Galop®3.
The Safety, Zoom, Things to remember and MCQ boxes make memorization easier, the Find out more boxes, Glossary, equestrian culture.
THIS GUIDE IS THE ONLY OFFICIAL FFE WORK COMPLIANT WITH THE GALOPS® PROGRAM RENOVATED IN 2012
